Teaching aims:

Knowledge aim: Students can get information from listening materials and complete a report. Ability aim: Students can talk about their abilities and make a report of their own. Emotion aim: Student can be more familiar with their partners.

Teaching important and difficult points: Students can get information from listening materials and talk about their own abilities.

Teaching procedure: Step 1 Review

T: Today, we are going to learn Integrated skills of Unit 7. Let’s do a translation first to have a review. T shows four Chinese sentences for students to translate one by one. During this period, T gives some tips and guides to help students understand.

Step 2 Presentation

T: About abilities, we know that different people have different abilities. As students, you must be good at different subjects, right? Last term, we learnt some subjects, so can you tell me some subjects as more as possible? 1.

Among these subjects, which subject do you like best? And why?;Which subject(s) are you good at?; Which subject(s) are you weak in?;Do you work hard on your study?; Do you do your best this term? (T asks students about these questions one by one) 2.

With these questions, let’s go on. Here’s a new phrase for you: a report card. Do you know the Chinese meaning? Here are some tips for you: You will get a report card at the end of each term. It is often written by your teachers, like Miss Chen. We can see how you did in every subject from it. So can you guess now? About the report card, who cares most about your report cards? 3.

T: Last term, we had a parents’

meeting.We teachers need to communicate with your parents about your work at school. Mr Wu is also going to meet the parents of Class1, Grade 7 students. Here is the report on Suzy’s study. Now let’s listen to the tape and match the subjects with the information on the report report card. Write the correct letters in the boxes. (Do you need to listen again?) Check the answers. 4.

T: This time, let me test your memory.Read the following sentences and judge T/F. (T asks students to read first and judge one by one.)

T gives students Chart 1, and asks students to tick in the table by themselves, and then T gives a model of pair work. T gives an example first, and then T asks students to do the pair work. T asks five pairs to show. 7.

T: Let’s know more about Suzy’s report. You can complete part of the notes about Suzy with the information in Part A1. Thirty seconds for you to finish. Let’s have a check. This time, let’s listen to the description and complete the rest of them. 8.

Mr Wu is writing a report about Suzy. Help him complete the report. Use the information in part A1 and A2 to help you.(T checks the answers with students.) Then T analyses the structure of the report, and asks students to finish Chart 2 about their partners.(1 minute for them to finish the chart, and 3minutes for them to prepare the report according to part A3.) T asks 3 students to show their reports. 9.

T gives students a sentence: Study well and make progress every day.
