Analysis of teaching material:

This part is the first part of section B, it mainly focus on students’ listening and speaking ability. So, the teacher must design activities to help realize this two aims.

Analysis of students’ background:

Students are from grade 7, they are interested in games, so the teacher design games to help them learn.

Teaching Aims:

Knowledge aim:

Students consolidate some words and phrases. Such as some adjectives：boring, difficult, busy, and easy, and some words about date and subject. Like: Monday, Tuesday…… Chinese, English……

Students master and consolidate key sentence structures,

like：A: What’s your favorite subject?

B: My……

A: Why do you like it?

B: Because……

A: When do you have the class?

B: It’s on……

Ability aims:

1.

Students can master some listening skills. 2.

Students can ask and answer questions about themselves and other students’ favorite subjects and also tell the reasons.

Emotional aim:

Students can improve their spoken language, so that they can increase their confidence in English.

Teaching key and difficult points: students need to use some proper adjectives to describe reasons; students need to master some listening skills.

Teaching process: Lead in:

First greet to the students and ask whether they can sing or not, then the whole class sing a week song together.

Monday, Monday, math on the Monday. Tuesday, Tuesday, art on the Tuesday! Wednesday, Wednesday, computers on the Wednesday. Thursday, Thursday, P.E. on the Thursday! Friday, Friday, my favorite Friday!

Then, ask students why they like Friday best.

This part is used to arouse students’ interest. They have much to say. 3.

Next, show our class time schedule to the students and ask whether they like it or not.

Pre-listening:

Review some words about week, month, and subject, and then introduce some adjectives according to some pictures. 2.
