试讲稿

Good morning, dear judges, I’m very hornored to have this opportunity to make this presentation. My teaching material is taken from Senior English Book I Module 1, Grammar 2, Adjectives ending in –ing and –ed. Now I shall begin my presentation.

1.

leading in

Good morning, boys and girls: Great to see you again, yesterday we have learned something about the present tense, today we are going to learn something new about the adjectives with –ing and –ed forms. I wish you will prepare yourself for this language points. At first I will write down two sentences on the blackbord, can you fill in the blanks? 1 I was ________ when I saw the _______ news. (exciting & excited---excite) 2 The dog was ________ in playing _________ games, such as playing balls, wires and plates. (interesting & interested---interest) After doing these exercises, can anyone find out the principles of this grammar?---Ok, here are two explanations, you should choose the correct one: A. The –ing form describes things; the –ed form describes people B. The –ing form describes the people or things that cause the feeling;

the –ed form tells us how people feel Of course, the Second choice is the right answer. To have a better understanding of their difference, please look at the following examples: 1. The girl let out a frightened cry at the sight of the snake. (The girl was frightened.) 看到蛇,女孩尖叫起来。

2. His frightening shout scared the boys. (The shout was frightening and the boys felt frightened.) 他大吼一声把那帮男孩给吓跑了。

We can tell from example one that –ed form takes the meaning of active voice, whiel the –ing form takes the meaning of passive voice. Both the –ed and –ing form can take on the role as modifier to the nouns. There are also other present participle and past participle acting like this, for example:an exciting voice 令人兴奋的声音

an excited voice 兴奋的声音a puzzling look 令人迷惑不解的表情a puzzled look 困惑的表情

Now I’m sure you have known something about this point, to deepen your impression,

please, Read the text again and underline the adjectives with –ing or –ed endings. I’ll

give you five minutes.

After reading, let’s summarize some common seen verbs whose adj forms can be divided into the –ing and –ed forms.

vt interest excite surprise disappoint worry bore adj interested excited surprised disappointed worried bored adj interesting exciting surprising disappointing worrying boring We can tell that the –ing form can be translated as “使人…”, or “令人…”

which implies

the people or the things cause the feeling, while the –ed form takes meaning of passive voice, which implies how people feel about something or somone. I bet you have some

knowledge about this, let’s do some exercises to check out. 1.

The situation is more ____than ever. I’m _____ about what to do next.

A.

puzzled ; puzzled

B. puzzling; puzzling

C. puzzling; puzzled

D. puzzled; puzzling 2.
