一、Objectives 1、To learn to use the subjunctive mood.（if/wish/would rather）

2、To cultivate students’ ability of imagination and thinking

3、To stimulate students’ interest in learning English.

二、Definition 虚拟语气是什么？

1、表示与事实不符的假设或主观愿望；

2、用谓语动词的特殊形式表示

eg.What’s the difference between the two sentences?

Wouldn’t do that if I were you, Mr Fischer. But I am not you, I will do it. 三、Some uses of Subjunctive Mood 1、if 引导的条件虚拟语气

Scene one

1) If I worked hard, I might have money. 2) I should sail for America, if I bought a ticket board. 3) If I had a lot of money, I could buy a ticket. Scene two

1) If I hadn't won the ticket, I wouldn't have been on board. 2) If I hadn't been on board, I wouldn't have met you. Scene three

1) If we were alive，I would marry you some day .

2) If we were to marry (should marry), we would live a happy life in the future.

If 从句的谓语形式

主句的谓语形式

注意：

省略

if 的条件从句：

用法：从句中有

were, had

或

should

时，省略if ，而把它们放在句首倒装。

① If I were Jack, I would marry Rose. ②If I hadn't been on board, I wouldn't have met you. ③ If we should marry，we would live a happy life.

变为：

2、wish 宾语从句的虚拟语气

①I wish I were Rose. (现在) ②I wish Jack hadn’t won the ticket. (过去) ③We wish Sophia would let us see the movie tomorrow. (未来)

3、would rather 句型中的虚拟语气
