Teaching Plan for Book 8 Unit 5 Reading A Visit to the Zhoukoudian Caves 学情分析：高二4班是一个文科普通班，学生的英语水平在年级中还算可以，水平比较平均，但是拔尖的同学很少。本班学生平时在学习英语的积极性还算可以，但毕竟女孩子多，比较害羞，口语能力比较差。本节课主要是对选修八第五单元阅读材料的理解，同时尽量创造机会让学生进行口语训练，为高三的听说考试做准备。

Teaching Aims: Help the students to know more about the Peking Man. Help the students to get the main idea and details of the reading passage. Give the students a chance to practice oral English. Teaching Procedures Step 1 Warming up Ask students to work in pairs to identify the objects shown in the textbook on P37. Discuss what they were made of and explain their use. Step 2 Pre-reading Show pictures of the Peking Man to students. Step 3 Reading comprehending 1.
