这篇文章是文学作品的缩写，故事情节跌宕起伏，故事性强，一定要让学生感受到欧亨利的写作风格，令人惊讶的结局，因此需要学生在阅读中

紧抓故事的主线，同时通过欣赏作者的语言来体会主人公的心情变化，并深入故事中的角色，为限时写作埋下伏笔。

Step V Summary and theme Thinking about the real meaning of the last leaf to get the spirit of the story. 【设计意图】学生完成阅读后，进行总结，学生就不难发现故事不是简单的一片叶子，它涉及到友情，关爱和希望，告诉我们只要有坚强的意志就可以克服困难，同时也向我们展示了Behrman的无私和善良。

Step VI Timed writing for a rough product Presenting students’ products 【设计意图】在充分激发学生的想象力后，学生的头脑风暴达到了顶点，此时就应该抓住时间让学生尽快输出。如果课后再写，学生可能就会失去灵感和兴趣。当然在有限的时间里，学生未必能够用优美的语言将所思所想表达出来，所以该题只要求学生用3-5个句子把自己的想法表达出来，课后可以再去加工润色。
