Teaching Aims：

1. Get students to know how to use the present perfect continuous tense.

2. Enable students to get the difference between the present perfect continuous tense and the present perfect tense . 3. Enable students to get the difference between the present perfect continuous tense and the present continuous tense . Analysis of the Students： The students’ English level is greatly limited because they live in the countryside and have few chances to use English. However, they still have a strong desire for grammar . So I’m supposed to design different tasks to make sure students of different levels will be trained in the whole process, so that all the students will be active in the class activities. Teaching Important and Difficult Points: 1.

How to use the present perfect continuous tense. 2.

What’s the difference between the present perfect continuous tense and the present perfect tense . 3.

What’s the difference between the present perfect continuous tense and the present continuous tense . Teaching Procedures:

Step 1

Lead-in Enjoy the song ----The way back into love. Invite some students to show their favorite sentences in this song.I show some sentences I like in this song and let the students find out what do they have in common.Point out the structure of this new tense.

Step 2

Discover the function Discuss the following situation: Function 1. Ask two students to read the dialogue and then give students 1 minute to discuss the following two question: 1.How long has the girl been waiting for the boy? 2.Does the girl need to wait for the boy any more? After these two questions,to help students analyze and summarize the first function of the new tense. Function 2. Show students another dialogue about the 2018 World Cup, let boys read the sentence on the left and girls read the sentence on the right,and still give 1 minute to discuss the following two question: 1.When did the 2018 World Cup broadcast? 2.Will the 2018 World CUP still broadcast to the future? After these two questions,to help students analyze and summarize the

second function of the new tense. Function 3. Present a picture and invite a student perform by his body language and facial expression. Discuss the third function together to help students

summarize the third function through two questions: 1.How long has the man been knocking at the door? 2.Did he knock at the door all the time or from time to time? After talk about the three functions of the present perfect continuous tense,try to summarize them by a short flash.

Step 3

Practice Give students four pictures, their job is try to make sentences by using the present perfect continuous tense.

Step 4.

Spot the difference Discussion1 (have/has been doing VS. have/has done) Present a situation about two painters, give students two minutes to think about ,if you have to go through one of the door, which one will you choose and why? After their discussion to help them analyze and summarize the difference between these two tense on the time line. Discussion2 (have/has been doing VS. Be doing)

Let students try to make two sentences by two pictures, give students two minutes to discuss the difference between these two sentences. After their discussion to help them analyze and summarize the difference between these two tense on the time line.

Step 5.

Group Work Each students work in groups ,try to think about a situation and make a dialogue , the present perfect continuous tense must be use.

Homework Play a guessing game to guess who is he, and let students write something about a member of class using as many tenses as possible,and the present perfect continuous must be included.Then next class let's share your descriptions,and let them guess who he/she is.
