Unit 5 Crafts Teaching Aims: 1.Be able to master the new words: craft, scissors, glue ,model house ,crown and tape. 2.Be able to master the main sentences: -What are you making?

-I’m making a toy plane.

-What do you want to make? -I want to make a crown. -Who is it for? _It's for my little cousin. 3.Be able to interest in having an art lesson in English. Teaching Importance 1.Be able to master the new words. 2.Be able to talk with others in English according to this lesson.

Teaching Difficulties How to take an art lesson by using English. Teaching Tool Multi-media, some handmade products, and word cards

Step 1.Warm up and greeting 1. Sing a song: Twinkle, twinkle , little star. 2.Greeting: Good morning boys ,and girls .Nice to see you again. How are you ? Put the students into two groups ,group A and group B .

Step2. Lead in Before new lesson ,let's enjoy a chant .We can see this chant is about crafts .Look at the pictures , this is a craft room , this is also a craft room ,think about what can we do in the

craft room ? yes , we can make something we like .What are crafts. Let's learn it together.

Step 3.Introduce crafts Look at pictures ,these are toy houses, some toy flowers, this is a model car ,a model ship , a bottle, these are all crafts. Read after me craft ,crafts .Are you interested in crafts ? Have you ever made something yourselves ? Today we are going to have a craft lesson ,and we will make something in this lesson.

Step 4 :Introduce how to have a craft lesson. The first thing we are going to make is a toy plane ,answer my questions please , what is it ? If I ask you "What are you making ?" you can say "I am making a toy plane." All of you listen carefully and answer ,ask some students. The second thing you can make is a model house .model ,we can say model car , model train ,model ship and so on. Read together model house. If I ask you "What do you want to make ?" you can

say "I want to make a model house." then ask some students to answer . The last thing we are going to make is "crown" , most girls like it ,so maybe boys will not make it ,but you can make it for someone , for example ,you can make it for your sister, cousin ,or for your friend. Now let's review these three things : toy plane ,model house ,crown , And three questions: -What are you making? -I’m making a toy plane.

-What do you want to make? -I want to make a crown. -Who is it for? -It's for my little cousin. ask students to have a match.

When we are having a craft lesson ,we need something to help us . Please tell me what we need .Yes, we need some paper ,some glue , tape and maybe a pair of scissors . Ask and answer in Pairs. -What do you need ? -I need ... . Now I will tell you how to make these things , I have prepared the paper and other things for you First, when you are making a toy plane , you can fold the paper like this (show how to make a toy plane),during this time you may need glue , tape , scissors. Second , when you are making a model house , you can use tape or glue to put these paper together. Third , when you are making a crown ,you need a pencil to draw ,and the cut it with the scissors. Now let's begin our craft lesson.

Step 5 :Having a craft lesson.

Give the things they need to students ,and begin to make things they like during this, teacher asks students questions they have learnt , and pass them the things they need , at all this time they do like they are just in the UK , and having a craft lesson , teacher asks one student to help her to ask students. When they are making ,put the picture in the text on the board . Finish making ,and show it to others.

Step 6 : Listen to the text , read and answer the questions in the form. Then answer "Why do they want to make these crafts?"

Step 7 : Perform the dialogue in group. Ask students work in group to perform the text in their own way .

Step 8 : conclusion and homework. Conclude what we have learnt this lesson. Read the words and text and then perform the dialogue to others.

教学反思

本课的重点是，掌握单词glue , tape, scissors ; 和三组重点句型"What are you making ? I am making a ..."“ What do you want to make?

I want to make…"

"What do you need? I need …” 在教学中，我主要思路是把一节讲手工的英语课当做一节用英语讲手工课去上。让学生感受英语，感受西方课堂。在知识讲解上，让学生明白glue 和 tape 是不可数名词scissors 需要借助于 a pair of ，接着让学生在手工制作过程中反复复习巩固重点单词给及句子。仿佛身临其境。听、说、读、写、演在课堂上得到充分展现，提高了学生的学习兴趣，增加了课堂的趣味性。

不足之处在于

没有对新学单词及时进行检测；对于学生的手工制作品没有给予充分展示。
