Teaching Content:

The material is from PEP Primary English Grade 3,Volume1. This lesson is the fourth period in Unit1. It has been a short time for most students to formally accept English classes. Teacher needs to take care of their learning enthusiasm and cultivate students' interest in learning English. Analysis of students: Students are active and curious . Almost everyone has a deep interest in English.

Teaching Objectives: Knowledge objectives: By the end of the class, students will be able to understand and say the sentence pattern What’s your name? My name is ... Goodbye./Bye. Ability objectives: By the end of the class, students will be able to use the sentence pattern What’s your name? My name is ... Goodbye /Bye in daily life. Emotional objectives: Students love to learn English and make friends. Teaching Key Points:

Students can understand and use What’s your name? My name is ... Goodbye/Bye in different situations. Teaching Difficult Points: The pronunciation of “ name” is not easy to be in place. Teaching Aids: Multimedia, Headdresses, Stickers,Flowers Teaching Procedures: Stage 1 Preparation (5mins) 1.

The teacher greets students .

The teacher plays the music (Hello). Review the content of the last class.

Two students introduce themselves with “I’m...”in front of class. Designing purpose : Let students get familiar with the teacher and review how to introduce oneself.

Stage 2 Presentation (15mins) 1.

The teacher introduce herself in the sentence pattern “My name is ...”

and repeat loudly .Then the teacher ask a student’s name naturally with the sentence “What’s your name?”. Designing purpose : Present the new sentence pattern. 2.

The teacher teach the new sentence pattern and emphasize the pronunciation of “name”. Then the teacher writes sentence pattern in the blackboard.

The teacher plays the passage radio. Students listen to the radio carefully , then the students read the passage.

Read the dialogue in roles. Designing purpose: Learn how to ask others’ names. Stage 3 Practice (10mins)

1．Ask several students to come to the front and put on the headdresses of these characters: John, Mike,Sarah, Chen Jie, Miss White to practice the dialogue. 2．Let’s check 3．Do some exercises Designing purpose: Let students get familiar with the new knowledge and develop students’ listening and speaking abilities. Stage 4 Production (5mins) Play a game: Two students build a bridge with hands. The teacher play the music . When the music stops,the one under the bridge should answer the question “What’s your name?”. Designing purpose: Competition is a good way to keep enthusiasm. Optional activities and Homework 1.

Listen to the radio and learn to use the sentence “What’s your name? My name is ... Goodbye/Bye” in different situations. 2.

Make an interview in English and write your interviewees’ names.
