【教材及学情分析】

本单元的Wonderland版块,学生要掌握的核心词汇是:spend, wait, most, piece, terrible, at last, weather forecast, bright。在这些词汇中,只有wait和terrible是目前上海中小学英语课程标准要求掌握的核心词汇。terrible曾在4B Unit5的wonderland板块中正式学习过,在本单元中作为复习处理;wait首次出现,是本单元词汇学习的重点。其余都不是课程标准要求掌握的核心词汇,要求会识读,不要求会运用。此外,词汇at last, weather forecast, bright虽然不是课程标准要求掌握的核心词汇,但对于学生来说并不陌生,在关于动词过去式的单元中接触过last,在刚刚学过的Unit4中也有关于weather forecast和bright的讨论,这些学习经验都为学生学习本单元奠定了一定的认知基础。

Farmland板块中,学生要掌握的核心句型是由What will…be(do)?引导的有关一般将来时态的特殊疑问句,回答句型为… will be (do)… 关于一般将来时的特殊疑问句的问答,在以往的学习过程中,学生一直在运用,并不会感到陌生,但需要提醒学生对will后的动词使用原型多加注意,需要在教学设计中进行不断复现和语境创设,帮助学生学会灵活运用。

根据本单元的教学内容,基于单元整体教学设计的理念,我们以“Will it be fine for outing?”为主题,三个课时话题分别为Waiting for the weekend(输出为复述别人的故事),Waiting for another weekend(输出为结合自己的经验续编别人的故事),Let’s go to the Shanghai Green Land(输出为写写自己的计划)。

考虑到Unit4和Unit6的学习内容都与“天气”有关,基于学生的学习经验,教学进度的安排上进行了微调,先跳过与天气无关的Unit5,将Unit4和Unit6连成一个以“天气”为主题的整体,同时在文本再构中加入Unit4中刚接触过的词汇(如shine again, turn rainy, all day long)。

另外,五年级上学期Unit9的课文题目是The Weather Report,单元整体设计1

中的第二课时讨论了可以了解天气预报的几种方式(包括看电视、听广播、打电话、上网、读报),第三课时讨论了天气对人类活动计划的影响比如雨天无法野餐等)。为体现比“单元设计”更宽泛的教学整体性,基于较薄弱学生的学习经验,在本单元的教学导入部分,通过回顾Why to know the weather report和How to know the weather report,复习上学期所学,引出新知,从而对关于“天气”的所学内容进行不断的复习和运用。

3、通过所给语言模式,有机地将新旧知识进行整合,询问和表达天气预报以及将要发生的事。
