Teaching design:

基于学生对5B Module 3 Unit 2 Weather 这一课the weather report语言知识的掌握，我整合了学生的新旧知识，创编了一个关于台风的故事。此拓展内容通过Ben的鹦鹉Polly在台风来临前飞出窗外的故事，告知学生台风将会造成的破坏，并讨论台风来袭时我们应该做什么和不应该做什么，从而将珍爱生命，保护自我的生命教育渗透于教学过程之中。

教师对自然灾害等突发事件的意识和能力应该潜移默化地渗透在平日的教学中。这样才能逐步提高学生对灾害气象的防范意识。

笔者在这一课时While-task的环节中让学生听一段天气预报员播报台风的听力内容。

让学生听一遍后，笔者出示听力填空表格。让学生听第二遍，并根据表格记录下台风来袭时候的天气情况，让学生加深了解台风的危害性。通过学习这段话，笔者在班里开展了Who is the best weather reporter?的游戏。让学生像把天气预报员那样说话，提高语速并在音乐放完之前读完。此环节的PPT如下：

学生在这一环节的比赛中非常踊跃。观众们以鼓掌的轻响来决定谁是最佳天预报员。此环节的学习成效明显。由于在上海7、8、9月是台风活跃的季节。笔者让学生思考，如果台风来袭我们怎样能做到安全防范。学生A答道：When the typhoon comes, we should stay at home and watch weather reports.笔者表扬了学生A又鼓励其他学生积极思维。学生B流利地用学过的英语说道：The typhoon is huge and dangerous. When the typhoon comes, there will be a lot of damage. So we should bring the plants and washings inside. We should park our cars in the garage. 笔者强烈地赞赏学生B的回答：Yes! Good job! 并对所有学生说台风来袭时大家要有安全防范意识并要保护好自己。
