practice English. (2)Be able to help each other . Teaching steps: 1. Warm-up.

(1) T: Let me introduce myself: I like science best.so I can say my favorite subject is science. (2) Revision

①Show students a calendar of this day and ask the students: T: What’s the date today ?

Ss : It ’s June 17th.

T: What day is it today? Ss : “It ’s Monday ”.

Present the other days in a week . ②Ask them to listen to a song and find the right order of

these days. ③Ask them to color the days in a week and give

reasons.

2. Presentation (1) Ask some of the students to share their ideas about their

favorite subject to make conversation with them and collect

words they use. T: What do you think of history? Ss: I think it ’s ...

T: Yes, I think so. / Oh, but I think it ’s ...

(2) Revise the adjectives they may use. (3) Make the Ss follow the sample and exchange ideas. 3. Work on 1a. (1) Read the words in 1a. (2) Teach the new words: free , cool (3) Check the answers.

4. Listening practice. (1) Work on 1b. Listen and check the words in 1a. (2) Read the schedule. (3) Work on 1c. Listen again and circle the classes on the schedule. (4) Check the answers together.

5. Pair work.

(1) Work on 1d. Ss talk about David ’s favorite subject and

your favorite subject in pairs. (2)Check some pairs.

6.Summary Sum up what we have learnt in this class with students. 7. Homework (1) Preview the text in Section B, 2b . (2) Make dialogues with the partners about your favorite
