I. Teaching aims and learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. know more about animals; 2. get related information from the listening materials;

3. complete a passage using the information from the listening materials; 4. learn to talk about the amazing things.

Talking about animals

Step 1 Lead-in 1. Play a guessing game.

T: Boys and girls, let’s play a guessing game. Please listen to me carefully, and guess what animal it is.

P1: It is very clever. It can speak Chinese or English like a person. What is it? P2: It has a long neck. The long neck helps eat leaves in the tree. What is it? P3: It lives in the water. It sleeps with its eyes open. Is it amazing? What is it? Ps4-6: Listen to their sounds.

2. Revision.

T: We know some fun facts about elephants and goldfish. Do you still remember them? There are no bones in the back of elephants’ feet—only fat. Fish sleep with their eyes open. Step 2 Presentation 1. Listening. T: Mr. Wu is showing Suzy some pictures of animals. Listen to their conversation and answer the question. How many animals are they talking about? And what are they? T: Listen again. Put the pictures in the correct order. Write the numbers 1-4 in the boxes.

2. Listening.

(1) Listen and answer. T: Suzy is afraid of animals. Mr. Wu wants to help her. He is telling her some interesting things about animals. Listen to their conversation and answer some questions.

(2) Listen and complete the sentences.

T: Mr. Wu also wants to help her know more interesting things about animals. Please listen again and help Suzy complete her notes.

3. More fun facts about animals. Step 3 Practice 1. Make up a dialogue.

T: We have learned a lot about animals. Let’s talk about your favourite animal or the animal you are afraid of. Please make up a dialogue to show your ideas.

2. Finish a thank-you letter. T: Suzy is not afraid of animals now. She is writing a thank-you letter to Mr. Wu. Help her finish the letter.

Unit5 Amazing Things Integrated Skills 教后反思

教学目标：学习关于动物的各种奇妙的知识；

学生学会运用听力策略，阅读听力材料，预测将要听到的内容，并学会初步应用速记；

在听力教学过程中训练学生的听力的同时，同时发展学生的而阅读与说的能力。

教学重难点：本课的语言知识以及应用速记的方法听写关键的词语

教学思路：本课内容是译林版七年级英语斜侧第五单元的第五课时，教授本课时我才用下面的步骤。

课前：进行daily report演讲；通过听写的方式检测学生的预习情况。

步骤一：pre-listening环节，为了激发学生的兴趣并提前扫清学生的听力障碍，并提前引入有关的信息。本单元前面几课时都涉及到amazing animals,所以采用guessing game的方式，让学生猜测动物得名字，并学习本课四种动物的一些特点。如，camel lives dry places,教授dry 这个词。从这个活动自然过渡到下一步，你还怕动物吗，引出短语：Be afraid of。

while-listening 环节，先让同学们分享做听力的时候有哪些技巧，然后教师分享自己的一些技巧，并通过听力技巧为线索，进行听力教学。即技巧一：读材料，熟悉所要听的内容；技巧二：预测与猜想，形成听的期待，可以带着问题有目的的听；技巧三：

听关键词；技巧四：学会速记。

Post listening环节，主要是完成A3部分的感谢信。通过提问的方式让学生获取感谢信的信息，并对一些语言点进行训练。

在此基础上，呈现更多的内容，让学生用这些动物的信息进行对话练习，这样既可以训练知识点，又可以训练学生的说的能力。

步骤二：在听speak up 之前，导入a man can write with on hand and draw with the other at the

same time. 听speak up 并且回答问题。

接着把全班同学分成四组朗读对话，然后在分成四组互相回答。通过分析对话，指导学生发现如何谈论amazing things。如何问：DO you know about…/ What do you know… 等等；如何回答：I hear of/ learn about/ know about/ read about…等等；如何评价：that’s cool/ amazing/ surprising/interesting…

鼓励学生运用他们所知道的事情谈论令人惊讶的事情和人物。小组采用编写对话的的形式进行联系，邀请各个层次的学生四人一组进行对话。

步骤三：

通过男生女生竞赛的方式说出所有的amazing things and amazing people，对本课进行一个总结。

课堂检测：采用翻译句子的形式将本课的重点回顾复习一下。

总结

1. 在教学中我设计了大量的学生活动，突出学生为主体的课堂教学，关注学生的反馈。注意从学生那里获得学生已有知识，在进行课堂活动。

2.在这节课中我尽量的渗透听力技巧的习得，让学生学会听听力，并创设情景让学生开口说英语。

3.同时，吸取了之前的教训，在课前做了充足的准备。作为年轻的教师，不优秀不可怕，可怕的是不努力。不管什么课型的课一定要事先去研究，研究如何设计才能符合学生的认知规律。通过查阅资料我发现以下几点：（1）听之前引导学生进行联想想象，预测听力内容，有利于切入话题，提高听力的效果。（2）听之前，对一些单词进行朗读，只有自身发音正确，才能听的准确。
