Step 1 Warm up 1. Sing a song: “Happy New Year”

2. Free talk T: Boys and girls, you sing very well. So do you know New Year’s Day?（板书New Year’s Day）It’s on 1st January(板书). So what does it mean?（板书元旦节）

What do you usually do on New Year’s Day?

What’s the date of New Year’s Day? Do you remember? So New Year’s Day is after Christmas Day, yeas or no. And after New Year’s Day, another festival is coming.

Step2 Presentation 1.揭示课题

T: Look at the picture. What festival is it? T: Yes, you’re right. So today let’s learn something about Chinese New Year（板书）. Please read after me: Unit8 Chinese New Year.
