Knowledge aims: 1. to learn some important new words and expressions. 2. to learn some relative historical, geographical and political knowledge. 3. to learn to write an outline. Ability aims: 1. to quickly digest a lot of new information. 2. to expand the given information and express their own ideas. Emotional aims: 1. to show enough respect to the female gender. 2. to understand by heart that no matter what kind of difficulties or sufferings our life gives us, we must conquer all obstacles and rise from ashes. 教学过程：

Step 1. Warming Up. Teacher: Class begins! Good morning! Ladies and gentlemen! Sit down, please! As we all know, everyone’s mother is the greatest woman in their own life, right?

Do you know any great woman? Please share with us a great woman or some great women, and state the reasons. (设计意图：以非常简短、简单的问答对话为开场，开门见山) Step 2. Great Women Show! Teacher: Now, let’s start our journey of Great Women Show! Let’s see some great women together! At the same time, pay attention! You’re supposed to take notes on the paper, including her name, nationality, identity and why she is great. Let’s begin!

Step 3. Writing. Teacher: Do you know what an outline is? An outline is used to present the main points in sentences of a given subject.

An outline may be used as a drafting tool of a document, or as a summary of the content of a passage.

A sentence outline is a compositional tool for writing a document. Now, let’s watch a video that is a little bit long and is about the two queens. After watching it, write outlines for the two queens! After watching it, show on the screen the outline of Mary Stuart. Teacher: Now, let’s write the outline of Elizabeth! You can make the best of the notes you have taken, the reading passage and what we have talked about, to finish the boxes in your own style. Then, give the students enough time to think and finish the task. At the same time, patrol in the classroom and help them do it. Then, check what they have finished and evaluate. Step 4. Summary. Ask the students what they have learned about writing an outline. Then, share with them the great usefulness of writing an outline. First, the outline can help us make clear the main ideas.

Second, when we read the same passage next time, we can easily remember the main ideas with the help of the outline. Last but not least, it can help us when we need to write a passage. Then, go back to talk about the two queens. Help them know the importance of choosing the right way to face the difficulties in life. In the end, show them the pictures of Elizabeth named the English Rose. Step 5. Homework.
