Arise the students’ interest in making judgment on a story according to some specific information. Teaching difficulty: Help students learn how to tell a fact and an opinion. Teaching aids: multi-media, a projector and a blackboard. Teaching method: giving questions;

task-based learning;

pair or group learning; practicing through activities.

Teaching procedures: Part I lead-in(2 mins) Step1: Judging the following sentences and find the same characteristics and differences among them. (Give some examples about facts, opinions and trails) Give a question in Chinese:

A fact or an opinion? 1.

What is a fact? Is that something that people believe? Describe it in your own words. And give an example. 2.

What is an opinion? Is that something must be true? Describe it in your own words and give an example. 3.

What is a trail? Can you describe it too? And give an example. Step2: conclude the same characteristics facts own and the same characteristics opinions keep. Finally compare the differences between a fact and an opinion.

Step3: Comprehension. Read a story given in the text book and circle some information which can help you to identify whether it is a fact or an opinion. Step 4: fill the table on the book

Step 5: read and predicate the listening material and finish it.
