Teaching Plan

Teaching aims: 1、Students should be able to listen, read, write and say the new words: taller、longer、older、younger 、shorter，than; 2、Students should be able to grasp the main sentence patterns:

How tall are you?

I’m 1.61 meters. I’m taller,

you’re taller than me. 3、Students should be able to finish the task “Do a survey and report”.

Teaching key and difficult points：

1、Students should be able to master the four-learned words:

taller、longer、older、younger 、shorter; 2、Students should be able to read the new word “than”

correctly and grasp the sentence patterns.

Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Lead in (1)

Let’s chant

Teacher plays the tape and the students follow it. (2)

Revision Teacher use PPT to help students revise the adjectives they learned before

Step 2 Presentation

(1) Teacher shows Picture 4，

ask and answer in the class.(Teacher invites two students to come to the front the compare their height.)

T: Who is tall? / Who is short?

Ss: A is tall. / B is short.

T: A is taller than B. （2）Make some sentences. Teacher encourages students to use “than”

and “taller” to describe others’ height. (3) Teacher will use the similar ways to teach other new words，“longer, older, younger, shorter”
