Period One

Work in paris &Let’s learn

Step1. Warming up

1.Duty report: Ask one student to give a duty report.

“Who’s on duty today?”

2.Greetings: Play a game named “lucky ball” and ask“How are you?”

3.Enjoy a song about weather.

Step2. Presentation

1. Show 5 pictures of different weather on the screen and ask Ss to describe .

Eg: Show a picture of sunny day and children are playing games .Teacher pretend to be very warm. Make Ss guess the words: warm by asking them How’s the weather? Get them to answer like: It’s warm.

Go on with other kinds of weather: cool、hot、fine、windy.

Step3. Practice

1.Whole class work: point out the new words. Say each one and ask Ss to repeat the words again and again.

Activity1(match work): Ask Ss to match each word with the picture.

2.Practice the structures: How’s the weather?

Activity2(pair work):One student ask, the other answer.

Step4. Production

Ask the students to make a conversation according to their real situation.

Eg: A:Hello Lingling. How nice to see you.

B:Hello Lele. Nice to see you too.

A:Lingling,how’s the weather today?

B:It’s warm.

A:Let’s fly a kite.

Invite seceral pairs of stedents to show their conversation.

Choose the best pair and give them presents.

Step5. Learn to sing the song

Sing after the video.

Step6. Homework

1. Copy the new words 3 times each.

2. Talk about the weather with your friend and then write a report about it.
