A Teaching Design for Unit2,Book4 Grammar---V-ing form used the Subject and Object

Analyzing the teaching material: This lesson is the third teaching period of this unit. In this period ,mainly deal with the grammar—the use of the -ing form as the subject and object. Students often feel the -ing form abstract and difficult, so it is necessary to make the lesson interesting and connect it with their daily life in order to let it easy to accept and understand. What’

more , design some simple exercises and describe the pictures which connect the lesson with our daily life in order to make the lesson more interesting and get students to master the usages of it. Analyzing the students: Most students in the class think the grammar rules are boring and are not interested in learning grammar .It is difficult for them to put they have learned into practice. In order to make the grammar lesson interesting and lively, I design different tasks according to different students’

level and let them join in to arouse their interest and confidence . Teaching Objectives: 1.

Knowledge Objectives:

Get students to learn the –ing form as the subject and object. 2.

Ability Objectives:

Enable students to use the V–ing form as the subject and object correctly and properly according to the context. 3.

Emotion Objectives:

1).Get students to become interested in grammar learning

2).Developing students’ sense of group cooperation. Teaching important points: 1).Let students learn which verbs are followed by the-ing form as the object and which by the infinitive. 2).Have students master which verbs can be followed by both the-ing form and the infinitive but express different meanings.

Step1: Lead-in At the beginning of the class,let students enjoy an English song,then fill in the lanks
