Teaching aims: 1. Learn and master the new words and expressions in this period. 2. Improve the students’ reading ability by fast-reading and careful reading. 3. Help the students understand others when body language is being used. Teaching important points: Teach the students how to understand body language used in different countries or cultures as well as in different occasions. Teaching difficult points: Enable the students to master the meaning of body language which used in different countries or cultures. Teaching procedures: Step1: Warming up 1. Enjoy a song and act to the music. 2. Guessing game:

Look at the screen, and guess the meaning of the following gestures. Step2: Pre-reading 1. How many ways can you think of to greet someone if you cannot speak? Share your idea with your partner. 2. Look at the title and picture of the passage. Predict what you think the topic will be. Then skim the passage and check to see if your prediction was right. Step3: Reading
