《Unit 1 On the farm》第一课时教学设计

一、Teaching aims:

1、Knowledge aim: Students can master the new words.

2、Ability aim: Students can understand and use the new words and sentences. And their listening and speaking abilities will be developed. 3、Students are willing to and able to communicate with others in English in the real life.

二、Teaching focus and difficulties:

1、Students will be familiar with the new words: farm、pig、cow、sheep、farmer.

2、Students will be able to read and use the dialogues: What is this? It is a ......

三、Teaching procedures

1、Warm-up and Lead-in

Greeting my students as usual.

Watch a short movie about animals .And today’s topic appears, on the farm.

2、Presentation

Show my students some pictures to present the new words. I will put the pictures on the blackboard.

3、Practice

Three activities for this part.

Activity 1:Guess. I will show a picture to only one student. He or she

should imitate that animal. The others observe him or her and try to guess what animal it is.

Activity 2: Sing a song. In this activity, I will teach my students to sing the song: Old MacDonald had a farm.

Activity 3: What’s missing? In this activity, I will divide the students to two groups: boys and girls, the winner can get one point. Then I will show the word cards to them, they should read the worlds and tell me what’s missing.

4、Production

Practice and present the conversation: “What’s this? It’s a …” I will give them 5 minutes to practise. After then I will ask some students to present it to us.

5、Summary and homework.

Finding some pictures and trying to describe them using what they have learned.
