课前分析

1.Teaching goals：Make students know the meaning of some key words and expressions. 2. Ability goals: Enable Ss to learn to use the key words and expressions.

Step1.Vocabulary study 1.in common 共同的；共有的(常和have连用) have much /a lot in common有很多相同之处

have something in common有一些共同之处

have little in common 几乎无共同之处

have nothing in common没什么共同之处

2.over time 随着时间的推移，久而久之

(1)Table manners change over time; they follow the fashion of the day. (2)Tastes in food also change over time. 归纳“time”的常用短语: in time 及时

on time 按时,准时

some time 一些时间

at times 时常

kill time 消磨时间

behind time 落后

all the time 一直

at a time 一次

at this time 这时

at that time 那时

at the same time 同时

in no time 立刻

3.sum n. 总数；算术题；金额

v. 计算...的总和；总结；概括

(1)The sum of 5 and 3 is 8. (2)She paid the sum of $200 for dresses.

(3)The boy is good at doing a sum in his head.

(4)He earned a large sum of money. 区别quantity, amount, number, sum这些名词

4. reality n. 真实；事实；现实

in reality

实际上，事实上

(1)He is out of touch with reality.

(2)His dream has become a reality.

(3)In reality, things always happen out of expectation. (4)We must face reality. 区别reality, truth这两个名词

5. go by 逝去；过去；依照

(1)He let a week go by before answering the letter. (2)It's not always wise to go by appearances. (3)Don't go by that old map. 归纳“go”的常用短语：

go through经历,检查,浏览

go ahead开始,前进,领先

go over检查,重做,复习

go around四处走动，流传

go up上升，增长

go down下降,沉没

go away离开; go on继续

go with伴随,与

... 相配

go along前进,进行

go out熄灭

; go after追逐,追求

6. as a result=so

“结果，因此”，表示结果。

He didn't work hard. As a result he failed his exam. as a result of=because of “由于……”，表示原因。

He was late as a result of the snow. 7. totally adv. 整个地, 全部地

(1)I totally agree with you.

(2)My speculations proved totally wrong. total adj. 总的；整个的

(1)What is the total population of Japan?

(2)His plan ended in total failure. 8. so … that …

“如此…以至于…”，引导结果状语从句，形容词或副词。

so后须接

(1)The tension was so great that the rope broke. (2)She was so happy that she danced．

(3)He ran so fast that I could not catch up with him．

区别“so that”，它可引导结果状语从句、目的状语从句。

(1)He went early so that he got a good seat．（结果）

(2)He went early so that he could get a good seat．（目的）

9. explore v. 探索；考查；探究

（1）Can you explore the market possibility for us? （2）The conference explored the possibility of closer trade links.

（3）They explored this desert region in 1923. 10. anyhow adv. (=anyway )无论如何;即使这样

在实现一个个任务的过程中,老师应该对学生加以引导,包括必要的简单示范,帮助学生完成学习任务,让学生体现到成功的喜悦。总体上,本设计体现了练习与新授词汇紧密结合，从易到难，逐步运用已学知识点。
