Sailing the oceans教学设计

Teaching Aims:

a. Learn and understand the key words and expressions b. Train the reading ability of students. Let students have some knowledge of early navigational methods. c. Let students develop a feeling of thanks. Teaching Difficult Points:

a. How to help the students understand the different words .

b. How to improve the reading ability.

Teaching Methods:

a. Skimming and Scanning

b. Carefully reading

c. Discussing Teaching Aids: The multimedia;

the blackboard and chalk Teaching procedures

Step1 Greetings

Greet students as usual.

Step2 Pre-reading

Show

students some pictures and let them identify the early navigational instruments

Step 3 Discussion Discuss the questions that “Do you want to be a seaman?”

Step 4 Listening and comprehending After listening to the contents of the text let students do the comprehending exercises on the book.

Step 5 Explanation ecplain the difficult words such as: voyage, mercy, minimum, nowhere, and etc. Step6 Discussion

students have a discussion in groups. What kind of quality do you learn from seaman? Step7 Summary
