This unit is mainly talking about the new technology and the changes that it brought. The words and expressions in the unit are mainly about history and technology. Students need to try to use them in their daily life. So it is important for students to get a context about them. Teaching objectives This class aims to help students with their words and expressions by using different exercises. Students can understand the new words of the unit better by knowing the English explanations of those new words. And students can try to use those new words and expressions in text. During the exercise, teacher can give students guidance necessarily to make students use the new words and expressions better. Students can discuss with their teammates and get better answer and create their own context by using the words and expressions. Teaching procedures Step 1: Ask students to review the word list of the unit and then ask some students to give the English explanation of some words. Then ask different students to guess the which words

are them. Step 2: Show students the exercise in the PPT and let them fill the blanks according to the understanding of new words. And the teacher check the answers by asking some students to share their answer. Step 3: Ask some students to give the Chinese meanings of the words in the PPT and ask students to read the passage of exercise 2 together. Give students 5 minutes to fill the blanks and the check the answers by showing the answer in the PPT. Step 4: Ask students to read My story together and then ask students to discuss with their group members about the features of it. Ask some students to share the features with class.
