Step 1:Warm-up 1.Greetings. 2.Review the words and sentences in the last periods. (1)cycling,go cycling,ice skate,play badminton (2)I didn’t like...before,I thought it was ... 3.The teacher says: boys and girls,in the last period,we have learnt the differences between the school in the past and the present.Now,I want to tell you of the differences between ourselves and the others in the past and the present.Please look at the screen and see what are the differences of Miss Chen 8 years ago and now. (show the photos in PPT) Step 2:Presentation 1.Let’s try.

(1)The teacher presents a picture of Mike and his friends looking at old photographs on the courseware. First, let the students guess what they are looking at to lead to the background of the dialogue.. (2)Let Ss read the title and guess what they are going to listen to. (3)Play the tape the first time, Ss just listen. And the play it again, have Ss write down the answers.

(4)Ask a student to speak out the answers.Then play it for the third time,check the answers with the Ss. 2.Let’s talk.

(1)Ask Ss to close the book and say “We are going to learn a new dialogue,it’s about Mike,Chen Jie and John’s past and the present.Now I want you to watch carefully and see: "What were they like before?" to guide students to imagine their three people before and their character. The teacher may give the following words or phrases: Appearance:short,tall,fat,thin,longhair,short hair …

Character:quiet,active,kind,funny …

(2)The teacher plays the animation of Let’s talk ,Ss listen carefully and complete the form.

(3) Check the answers. (4) Ss read the dialogue by themselves and find out the words or

sentences that they don’t understand, the teacher explains them. ※(explain the new words “different and active” and call attention to

Step 3：Consolidation and extension 1.Ask Ss to find the partners by themselves,three Ss in a group to act the dialogue. 2.Have several groups show it to the class.(※correct them if necessary.) 3.My past and present. Ask Ss to take out the photos that the teacher asked them to take the last lesson.Four students in a group to describe them. ※Ex: A:Before,I was ......Now,I’m very ...... in class.How about you?

4.Exercises in PPT (1)Ss finish by themselves first and then ask several students to answer. (2)check the answers with the whole class. Step 4:Homework 1. Watch to the animation or listen to the tape,follow the pronunciation and intonation. 2. Find an old photos of your family members or friends and describe it to your parents. 3. The design of this class main focuses on listening and speaking more. Teachers should learn to give "right of speaking" to students, let them speak freely, correct their language mistakes at the right time, let them speak out loudly. At the same time, contact the actual life, let the students use the sentence patterns to describe their relatives, let them close to their family and friends at the same time, and play their own creativity
