Part 1 The following sentences are from the text. There are some useful structures in them . Let Step 1 lead students translate them and pay attention to these in boldface words 1.He cares little about spending the money on himself or leading a comfortable life . (The Object)

Step 1

v.-ing 形式有时态和语态之分

1. 当doing的动作和谓语动词的动作同时发生，动作是主动，用doing；

She enjoys drinking water before dinner. 2. 当doing的动作和谓语动词的动作同时发生，动作是被动，用being done；

Tom is afraid of being punished by the teacher. 3. 当doing的动作发生在谓语动词之前，动作是主动，用having done；

Tom denied having cheated during the exam. 4.

当doing的动作发生在谓语动词之前，动作是被动，用having been done。（不常用）

begin, start, continue, intend, want, need, remember, forget, regret, try等。

但是有一些动词后接v-ing形式/不定式结构意义完全不同
