Lesson 7 What would you like? Let’s learn 临川区实验小学

一、Analysis of teaching material The main topic of this unit is to ask preferences about food and drink. And the key point is learning the words and sentences about food and drink.

二、Analysis of students The students of Grade 5 have curiosity about English and willing to speak English. And they have learnt English for two years and mastered some English words and expressions so that they can communicate with others.

三、Teaching contents “Let’s learn”

of Unit 7 of KP Primary English, Book 5.

四、Teaching aims and demands A. Knowledge objects: 1. Can listen, speak, read and write out the new words: would like, bottle, candy, juice 2. Can understand and use the sentences: What would you like? I’d like _______. B. Ability objects: Can ask others’

preferences about food and drink in daily life. C. Emotion objects: Cherish food and keep a healthy diet.

七、Teaching procedures 1. Greeting and warm up Sing a song 《Apple Tree》

A. Review the words about fruit.

Teacher shows an apple card. T: Look! What’s this? Ss: It’s an apple. ( Use the same method to review other fruit words) B. New words teaching.

T: What’s this? Ss: It’s a bottle / a cup / a glass/ candy.

T: What’s this? Ss: It’s a bottle of coke / a cup of tea / a glass of water.

C. A guessing game.

T: There are many pictures in my hands. Please guess what it is. If you are right, your group can get a smile face.

b. Fill in the blanks according to the pictures in the PPT.

_______ ice cream 3. Presentation There are so much food and drink in my hands.

T: I’m hungry. I would like some noodles. What would you like?(Teacher explains the meaning of “would like”) Ss: I would like .... T: We can also say “I’d like ...”

Teacher teach the sentence drill and ask and answer between teacher and students first. Then, let one student ask and the other students answer. Finally, students ask and answer in pairs by cards in their hands. 4. Practise There is a clock and some food and drink in PPT. Students will ask and answer according to the information in PPT.

A: I’m hungry. Let’s lunch.
