Step3 T: The magic stone can make soup, do you believe? S: Yes/ no. T: Someone say yes and some one say no. I will tell you a

story, and then you will know. Before I tell you this story, I’ll

divide you into two teams, I give each team a pot and some

food, if the students of your team give a right answer to my

questions, you can put a kind of food into your pot. In the

end I’ll see which team can get more food, and make more

delicious soup. Ok?

(Slide show 3pictures) let’s come into our

story. T: Look at the screen first, I’ll give you three pictures, the

first one, (Show the first picture and ask) 1 Who is in the picture? Ss: An old woman and an old man. (put the pictures on the blackboard)

2.Are they happy? Ss: No. T: Oh, they are sad. The next picture, 2 Who is coming? Ss: A little boy.

(put the boy on the blackboard) 2. What’s in his hand?

Ss: A stone. T: Good, the next one. 1.

What are they doing? Ss: They are talking. T: Do you want to know what happen, and what are they

talking? Let’s listen. Open your book at page 69. (Listen) (show another slide) T: Stop. Let’s look at the screen and answer. 1.

You know they are not happy, why? S1: No, they are hungry. S2: They have no food. S3: They are poor. T: Yes, they are very poor, they live in a small house, and

they have no food. T: This picture, what’s the boy singing? Ss: Magic stone magic stone, I have a magic stone. T: What’s magic stone? Ss: Magic stone can make delicious soup. T: Yes, you are right, Three people and a stone, what will

happen? let’s look at the picture.

(show the picture) T: What are they doing? Ss: They are making soup. T: What do they need when they are making soup, let’s listen. (Listen) T: Ok, first what do they need? Ss: A big pot. T: (Draw on the blackboard) They have the pot. And the little

boy put the stone into the pot. T: And then what do they need? S1: Some water. Draw some water. T: Any thing else?

S2: Salt and pepper. T Ok, they have salt and pepper. (Put the salt and pepper) T: Any others? S3: Vegetables. T: Do they have vegetables? Ss: No.

T: They want to make soup, but they don’t have vegetables, What will they do?

Ss: Borrow.

T: Yes, the old woman said “let’s borrow some vegetables

from the neighbour.( write let’s borrow on the blackboard) T: What’s neighbour? Let’s look at the screen.(show 4 pictures) This woman is the old woman’s neighbour, this man is her

neighbour too, they are the neighbours. Can you understand

T: Good, What do they borrow from their neighbours, let’s

look. (slide show) T: Stop, first talk about the questions with your partners. You cycle the answers to these question’s on your book. (Discuss) T: Who do they borrow from? S1: Mrs. Guo. T: What do they borrow from Mrs. Guo.(put the picture) S2: Vegetables. T: ( put the picture) Let’s borrow some vegetables from Mrs. Guo. (Let the students read) Ss: Read T: Another person? I think they can make delicious food, yes or no? Ss: Yes. Step4: T: Look at the last picture. All the people around the soup,

what are they doing? Ss: They are eating soup laughing. T: Let’s read the last part together, you read the sentences in

the quotation marks, I read the rest. ( Read) T: The last paragraph, can you read by yourselves? Ss: Yes (Let them read)

Step5: T: Ok the story is over, look at the blackboard if without the stone can you make delicious soup?( put the hand on the stone) Ss: yes. T: Good if they don’t have these food only have the stone,

the soup is not delicious, so do you think the stone is

and help each other.(Help each other. write on the

blackboard).互相帮助。We should help each other too, If someone need help, we should help them. (Can you say something about yourself, ) T: We finish this story and your soup is finish too, let me
