教材分析：

本课学习材料讲述了小女孩黛西在一次梦境中借助飞毯造访三个地方、跟不同的野生动物对话的奇幻故事。课文主题是动物保护。飞毯满足了黛西的愿望，在三段经历中，黛西不仅了解了羚羊的处境，还明白了不仅要保护动物本身，还要理解并保护动物栖息地、及整个生态环境，内容和主旨环环相扣又层层递进。本文虽结构清晰、语言不难，但限于故事体裁和文中的对话模式，想要让学生提取出几个深层次的要点并不容易，如农民起初猎杀大象的两个原因、政府的做法和原因、猴子所说的话的暗示含义（生物的彼此依存和生态系统的重要性）等。

在处理文章过程中，教师引导学生提取和梳理文章信息，由浅入深地完成内容概要，并适时启发学生从个人、政府、社会等多角度思考如何保护野生动物，并在读后活动中利用文本信息和生成信息完成情境演说操练。

学情分析：

这是一堂英语阅读课的第一课时。上课对象为高一（11）班实验班学生，文本语言障碍不大，提取关键信息也较容易，但根据所给信息用自己的语言整合归纳输出的能力还比较欠缺，教师希望能在课上引导学生完成文本信息的概要写作。学生在利用所给储备信息做输出活动时或许还有障碍，需要教师引导。
