Part 1 : Teaching material The content of this lesson is New Senior English for China Book 1 unit three. This unit is about travel journey. This lesson is the second period. By studying this unit, students will know more about the travel and develop the interest in travel. This reading passage is a narrative writing, which is normal in the senior English books as well as easy for the students to understand. There are a great number of words explanations in this part, it can help the students to improve their power of observation. This lesson is of great importance in this unit. If students can master it well, it not only will be very helpful for them to the rest of this unit

but also for them to learn such a style of writing confidently.

Part 2: Design philosophy The topic of this unit is travel journey, which is close to the real life of the students. When learning the passage, inspiring the interest and imagination of the students is of great importance.
