Materials of the Listening

(听力材料) Hillary Clinton is probably the most famous woman these days. She was born in Chicago, Illinois

in 1947. She did very well in both high school and college, where she was the first student ever to give the graduation speech for her class. Mrs.Clinton studied law at Yale Law School(1) and graduated with honors. After college，she worked with children at a hospital (2)and used her extra time to give free legal advice to the poor.In 1992，Hillary Clinton’s husband Bill was elected President of the United States. In her position，Hillary worked to make the American health care system better. In 2000，Mrs.Clinton became a leader in New York and helped make schools better for children. In 2007，Hillary Clinton tried to become the first woman president.(3) She lost to Barack Obama，who asked her to be his Secretary of State. She was the third woman ever to hold this position.(4)
