1、教师用谜语引入新课：I have a thing. It can tell us the months and the dates. What is it?引导学生回答：It’s a calendar.教师拿出日历说：It’s a calendar. Look! How many months are there in a year?教师帮助学生回答：There are twelve months in a year.

2、教师把1-6月英语单词写在黑板上，示范领读一遍单词，并强调January和February的发音要准确，适当纠音。

3、教师说：My birthday is in April.领读，检查纠正个别学生的发音。教师随后提问：When is your birthday? 领读，检查纠正个别学生的发音。然后同桌1、Greetings:T：Hello，boys and girls.

2、师生自由交谈：如：What day is today? What is your favorite day? What do you usually do on that day?

两人一组将黑板上的月份单词放入主句型When is your birthday? My birthday is in..中进行替换练习。

4、学生自读课文，在书上画出描述David和肖慧庆祝生日的动词短语。通过表述，让学生们总结东西方过生日时传统食物的异同。

5、播放录音，生打开书跟读Listen and say部分对话。

注意模仿录音的语音语调。

6、以全班、小组、同桌读的方式练习对话。
