How to improve our listening ability

Teaching aims:

1. Let students master the tips of how to improve listening ability

2. Develop students’ confidence in listening. Teaching difficult points: 1.

How to master the skills. 2.

How to develop students’ confidence to persist the tips.

Teaching procedure: Step 1 Greeting Step 2 Presentation

1. Show a video clip to the students, and then ask them to finish a questionnaire.

How many students can understand the listening material and how well?

2. Teach students the tips of how to understand the material completely 1) Reading

Tell them to read the material as fluently as they can. It would the best if they can recite it. 2) Intensive listening If they can read the material fluently, then listen to the material as clearly as they can. Just remember: While listening, you must be able to repeat them.

3) Persisting Encourage students to persist the two steps above day by day. If they can persist them for enough time,
