v ing作状语

教学目标: 1. Students will be able to understand the grammar item ---- v-ing form used as adverbials through completing the given tasks. 2. Students will be able master the grammar item ---- v-ing form used as adverbials through imitating the sample passage and finishing a piece of translation. 3. Students will be able to gain the idea that v-ing form is a very useful grammar item, which can be commonly used in their writing and speaking. 重点难点: 1.Key points: Students will be able to understand how to use v-ing form to replace some adverbial clauses. 2.Teaching difficulties: Students will be able to use what they have learned in the class to complete theexercise and writing. 教学策略: Task-based teaching; imitating 教学媒体:投影;多媒体课件 教学步骤: Step one Lead in Fill in blanks according to the given pictures and words. Step two V-ing作状语.

1)用v-ing 填空，使句子完整。 Walking along the street, I met Mary(表时间) I stood there, waiting for her. (表伴随) It rains heavily, causing severe flooding in the area (表结果) Being tired, I stopped to take a rest(表原因) Turning to the left, you will find the school (表条件) 英语中一些固定表示独立主格结构的v-ing有：

2)增加一个连词，将v-ing部分的内容改写成一个句子。 • 1) Waiting for the bus, he read a copy of China Daily.

• =While he was waiting for the bus, he read a copy of China Daily. • 2) Being ill, he didn’t go to school.

• =As he was ill, he didn’t go to school.

• 3) The chicken ran fast, holding a letter with her.

• = The chicken ran fast, and held a letter with her.

• 4) Unfortunately his father died, leaving the family even worse off. • =Unfortunately his father died, and left the family even worse off.

• 5) Working hard, you will gain success sooner or later.

• =If you work hard, you will gain success sooner or later. 3) 用v- Discover and conclude (发现和归纳) V-ing短语在句子中作状语，可以表示时间，原因，结果，条件，方式或伴随动作等。

1.时间状语

Walking in the street, I came across an old friend of mine. (=When I was walking in the street, I came across an old friend of mine.) 2.表原因状语

Being ill, he didn’t go to school.

(=as he was ill, he didn’t go to school.)

3.表方式、伴随情况的状语: 作伴随状语的分词表示的动作, 必须是主语的一个动作, 或是与谓语所表示的动作(或状态)同时发生, 或是对谓语表示的动词(或状态)作进一步地补充说明。

He sat on the sofa, watching TV. (=He sat on the sofa, and watched TV.) 4.表结果

e.g. Her mother died in 1990, leaving her with her younger brother.

(=Her mother died in 1990, and left her with her younger brother.) 5.表条件

Using your head, you will find a way. (=If you use your head, you will find a way.) 6.与逻辑主语构成独立主格:

I waiting for the bus, a bird fell on my heard．

我等汽车时,一只鸟落到我头上。

All the tickets having been sold out, they went away disappointedly.

所有的票已经卖光了,他们失望地离开了。

当动词的ing形式作状语时，其逻辑主语就是句子的主语。如果动词的ing形式的逻辑主语

Where was he/she born? What dose he/she do well in? What are his/her hobbies?
