Listening & Speaking教学设计

本单元紧扣“女性”这一中心话题，通过介绍几位生活在不同国度的杰出女性，探讨女性在社会生活中的地位、价值和贡献，关注她们所面临的困难，讴歌他们在社会各个领域的成就。听说部分列举了女性在通往成功道路上所面临的困难，而后训练学生结合相关阅读及听力材料，运用介绍人物品质和个性的形容词口头描述伟大女性的故事。



Teaching Idea: This listening text is about the particular problems women have when they want a career of their own. These are problems that men do not have and so it is important that both men and women are aware that they exist. In this class, I combine listening part with speaking to let students give their opinions on these issues after listening, and thus they especially the girls can further realize the situation women have in society and build up the correct gender views and social views.



Teaching Objectives: Students can be guided to predict the content of the listening materials in the pre-listening activity. Students can take the necessary notes while listening to understand the problems women have and the main idea of the listening materials. Students can train their listening skills through listening, such as prediction, catch the key words to take notes. Through the listening materials and discussion the students will have

a better understanding of the roles women play in society.

Teaching Procedures Step1.

Revise “A Good Example for Me” by asking some questions:

Yesterday we learned something about one of the most important doctors in China. Who was it? Q2:

What does she specialize in? Q3: What made her famous? (Reference: Lin Qiaozhi; She specialized in women’s disease; She became famous because of her kindness and the consideration that was showed to all her patients.) Step2. Pre-Listening Task1. Brainstorm & Presentation ①

Ask all the students to write down their career ambitions. Then add the qualifications that are needed to reach that ambition. ②

Choose some of the girl students to explain their ambitions and what they need to do to achieve them. Task2. Discussion & Prediction Ask the students in pairs to do Ex.1 and make a list of the problems they think women who want a career may have and then compare theirs with another pair to discuss. Step3. While-Listening

Ask the students to listen to the text for the first time and check whether their ideas are similar to ones in the text. Remind them to take notes after the word “first”, “second” and “third”, which are the clues to the coming information. ②

Listen again and ask the students to make notes of the three problems in Ex.2. Just ask them to make notes to remind themselves of the reasons given on the tape, not write full sentences. ③

The third listening is to encourage students to concentrate on details. Remind them to concentrate on these sentences during the listening to fill the gaps. ④

Finally listening to check the answer. Step4. Post-Listening & Speaking After listening, ask students to discuss whether they agree with the speaker or not. At the end of the discussion , one in each group can tell the rest of the class their conclusions and the reasons for them. And then give their own ideas on this issue. Step5. Thinking & Discussion Ask the students to: 1.

Think about the other difficulties women may meet when developing their career; 2.

Talk about why these women like Lin Qiaozhi can have so great achievement in spite of facing so many difficulties;

Discuss in pairs on the reasons of this phenomenon and raise some effective ideas to solve the problem. Step6. Homework 1.

Give them the listening materials and let them to self-check their listening, underlining the unknown words. 2.
