Exploring plants 设计意图

1) Aims of linguistry

By the end of the lesson, students will get some basic knowledge about plants exploration and will comprehend the passage better.

2) Aims of linguistic skill

Use what we have learned to describe why was there a lot of plant collecting in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. 3) Aims of emotional attitude

Students help,cooperate and communicate with each other. 4)Aims of learning strategy After learning this lesson,students will improve the reading skill and efficiency.And they can use English to express their ideas. 5)Aims of cultural consciousness Improve the Ss’ awareness of exploration.

Step1. Warming up (3mins) 1）ask the students some questions and show some pictures. Step 2.Pre-reading(4mins) 1.)

Ask students if they have a courtyard or some pot plants on their balcony? Step3. While reading: (21mins)

2.Scanning: Do the exercises (T or F) I will divide the students into four groups, and then the one who stands up fast and gives the right answer can get ten marks for his group, and the group which gets the highest mark will get a present)

Since the students in the class are in different levels, so first I will let them fill in the blanks to get an expression of the general idea of the text.
