Text: Unit2 Working the land Teaching type: Grammar and Writing

Analysis of the Teaching Material: The reading material contains several usages of v-ing. The grammar part is about using v-ing as subject and object. These two kinds of uses are supposed to be separated into two parts. The class aims to help students distinguish these two kinds of uses and learn how to use them freely.

Analysis of Characteristics of the Learners: The students have got the hang of the basic English structure and they will easily understand the whole class. Besides, they are quite familiar with the ing form of the verb. Owing to the students being teenagers, they tend to lose their interests easily, so different kinds of activities can help them keep their interests on the class.

Teaching Objectives Knowledge objectives: 1. The students will learn some useful words and expressions: subject, object, enrich, regret, stick to... 2. The students will learn and get the hang of using v-ing forms as subject and object. Ability objectives 1. The students will master the usage of the words and expressions above. 2. The students will master the usage of v-ing forms as subject and object. 1

Emotional objectives The students will develop their interests in learning English. Cultural objectives The students will develop their language cultural awareness using v-ing form.
