Wildlife Protection Grammar

Background information

Students: 60 Senior High School students, Grade 1.

Time: 45 minutes. II Teaching

aims By the end of the lesson, students will be able to do: 1) Learn the structure and master the usage of the Present Progressive Passive Voice; 2) Use the structure to make some sentences.

3) Learn to write a formal letter.

4) Be more active in the process of learning English and more confident of their learning ability through different activities; 5) Discover the structure of the Present Progressive Passive Voice through observing the sentences from the context and consolidate it through speaking and writing. 6)Improve their speaking skills and think broadly through discussion. 7) Be aware of the importance of protecting animals and environment. 8) Gain a sense of achievement in discovering the grammar rules by themselves; 9) Learn to use the Present Progressive Passive Voice to describe something and give opinions. Teaching content: Grammar:The Present Progressive Passive Voice

Help students to sum up the structure and the usage of the Present Progressive Passive Voice; 2)

Guide students to master the usage of it through speaking and writing. Train and improve students’

Steps and Timing Step I

Greeting and Warming up (2 mins.)

Greet the whole class as usual.

2)

Have a free talk with SS.

(Purposes and reasons:

Develop students’ early levels of engagement and motivation and help get all students quickly on task.) Step II

Revision (3 mins.) T leads Ss to review the grammar--- the Present Passive Voice

Step III

Lead-in (10 mins.) 1) T gives two sentences and guides Ss to analyze them.

2) By analyzing the two sentencs, T helps Ss to get basic structure of the Present Progressive Passive Voice

(Purpose of my design: this step is used to develop early levels of engagement and motivation to help Ss quickly on task; to create a climate of interaction and involvement.)

Step IV

Presentation (15 mins) 1) Individual work: Ss find more sentencs related to the Present Progressive Passive Voice in text.

2) T gives more examples about the Present Progressive Passive Voice. 3) Group work: Ss work in a group of four and find the rules about the grammar. 4) Gonclusion: T leads Ss to conlude the structure, usage, and meaning of the Present Progressive Passive Voice. Step V

Summary (2 mins) T leads Ss to summarize what have learned today. Step VII

Homework (1 min) 1. Finish the exercise on their textbook.

The Present Progressive Passive Voice

+ am/is/are + not + being + done 2.

用法：

表示说话人说话时或现阶段正在进行的动作，经常和时间副词now (现在), right now (现在, 此刻), at present (现在, 目前), at this moment (此刻) 连用。

意义：

主语和谓语动词之间是被动关系,而且动作正在进行。
