Let’s sing Teaching Aims and Demands: 1. Enable to listen, speak, read and write the past tense of the verb phrases:went to the zoo, saw a film, played ping-pong, watched TV, stayed at home, read a book. 2. Enable to use the sentence patterns flexibly in practical situations. 3. Enable to know the Swallowing sound and Liaison about the pronunciation . 4.

Enable to sing the English song “Last Weekend” fluently.

5. Enable to talk about the weekend activities each other. 6. Enable to guide Ss to enjoy the colourful and happy weekend. Teaching Key and Difficult Points: 1.

Teach: Weekend T: Saturday and Sunday, we call them weekend. 2.

Let’s chant “Every weekend”. Ss chant and clap their hands. Chant: Every weekend I read a book.

Every weekend I see a film .

Every weekend I stay at home.

Every weekend I watch TV.

Step 3. Presentation 1.

Show a calendar and teach: “last”“ weekend”. Introduce the core idea of this lesson“I was very happy last weekend.”

T: March 31 was last Saturday. April 1 was last Sunday. We call them“last weekend”.

Chant and teach the key phrases in the lyrics. Teach the original form and stst

the past tense of the verb phrases in the lyrics. Show my photos and read the phrases after me. T sings: I was very happy last weekend. What did I do ? What did I do? Ss chant: Miss Xie. Miss Xie. What did you do? What did you do? Teach: go/went to the zoo play/played ping-pong see/saw a film 3.

Explain the changing rules of the past tense of the verb in the Simple Past Tense. Regular verbs should add“ed”at the end of the word. Irregular verbs need to be remembered! 5.
