一、教学内容

河北教育出版社义务教育教科书英语四年级下册第三单元《How Old Are You?》

二、教学目标

（一）知识与技能

1.掌握单词old,year,not的读音及拼写

2.能够将所学句型How old are you? I’m ______years old. When is your birthday? My birthday is _______.运用到实际生活中去。

3.能够结合本课所学重点句型进行对他人的询问。

（二）过程与方法

1.结合本课主要教学内容，在听说，语言交际的过程中，感受英语的表达方式，并掌握一定的学习英语的方法及在实际生活中的应用。

2.通过教师引导，自主学习和合作等学习方式，在英语学习上有新的发展，培养学生语言学习和运用的能力。

（三）情感、态度与价值观

1.在具体情境和课堂教学活动中，体会运用英语语言交际的成就感和乐趣。

2.感受英语与日常生活的密切联系，增强在日常交际中运用英语的思维意识。

三、重点难点

重点：单词old,year,not的读音及拼写；句型How old are you? I’m ______years old. When is your birthday? My birthday is _______.的实际运用

难点：在实际情境中运用所学句型并进行扩展。

学生准备：英语书，练习本

五、教学过程

Step1 Greetings and Leading-in 1)Sing an English song “How Old Are You?”

2)Review the numbers 1~20.

Step 2 Introduction 1 New Words and Sentences 1)T: There are something lost on the birthday cake. What are lost? Ss: Candles. T: How many candles are there? S: How old are you? 2) T: How old are you? S: I’m _____years old. Lead the Ss to say the words“old, year”and then try to write them together. 2 Listen and Answer the Questions together. Listen the dialogue twice. Then answer the questions below: A. How old is Danny ? B. How old is Steven? C. Is Danny’s birthday July 52 or July 25?

Step 3 Group Works and Make a Survey Ss make a survey with each other and then fill in the table on paper.

1) How old is he/she? He/She is _______years old. 2) When is his/her birthday? His/Her birthday is ________.

Step 4 Extension 1) See some animals or plants’longevity.
