Period: Unit1（2、3、Revision1——4）

Type: Comprehensive Teaching Objectives: Matching watches and times. Teaching Focus：The sentence “It’s (five) o’clock.” “It’s half past (three).”

Review

Do a clock bingo on page 9. Clock Bingo (1)Ask the pupils to use a pencil to draw the hands on the first four clocks. They should use times which are precisely on the hour and half past the hour only. (2)Then say a time, It’s half past three, and all the pupils who drew this time on one of their clocks should cover it with an eraser or a piece of paper. The winner is the pupil who manages to cover all the clock faces first. The winner must they say all the times he/she has covered to the rest of the class. (3)The winner then takes the teacher’s place and calls out new times. The rest of the class and the teacher have to cover their clock faces. The second group of clock faces can be used immediately or left blank to be used for revising the time in later lessons. (4) If the pupils enjoyed the game, they maybe it’s better not to fill

them in straight away. But to use them to liven up more difficult lessons in the future. II.

Match and colour. In this exercise, pupils practise telling the time. (1)They have to listen to the teacher, then they should work in small groups and correct each other’s pronunciation and finally they should work in pairs. Make sure that you walk around the classroom and listen to all the groups. Once they have done this activity, they should complete the exercise in the book. (2)They have to match the watches with the sentences by colouring in each box with the appropriate colour. III.

Read and colour. This exercise is on page 28 (1)The student must can say “It’s half past three./ It’s twelve o’clock./It’s five o’clock./It’s half past one./It’s half past nine./It’s eleven o’clock..”

(2)Then listen and colour it.
