I. Analysis of Teaching Material

In this lesson, students learn to talk about the food they like and dislike as well as their favourite food. This topic is closely related to students’ daily life. Students will be interested in this lesson.

II. Analysis of Students

Students have learnt English for more than half a year. They have known some English words and sentences. They are interested in topics that are closely related to their life. They are eager to learn, but they are not able to accept too much new knowledge during 40 minutes. They need to practice more.

IV. Key Points and Difficult Points

The key point is that students can aurally understand, orally use, recognize and spell the following words: chicken, fruit, vegetables, like.

Students will be able to aurally understand and respond orally to the following phrases and sentences:

The difficult point is that students can use the words and construction in daily life. V. Teaching Process

1. Greeting and Warm-up

The teacher and students greet each other as usual. After greeting, students play the game “look and say.”

T: first, let’s play a game. Look and say. If you know it, please stand up and say it as quickly as you can. Understand? Let’s begin. (noodles rice juice banana soup tea meat dumplings)

T: Well done! What are they? They are food.

设计意图: Playing games creates happy atmosphere for English study. This game helps students review the words about food through an interesting way.

2. New Concepts

T: Today I bring you some food of our school’s lunch.

What’s this? (noodles, soup, rice, dumplings)

Look, what are they?

出示蔬菜图片,读单词vegetables, vegetables, vegetables.

T: Can you say some vegetables?

设计意图:Students are supposed to listen at first, then, repeat, at last, they write the new word. Pictures and real objectives are used to teach new words, which makes new words easier to remember.

T: I like rice. I don’t like noodles. How about Jenny? Listen carefully and fill in the blanks.

I like______. I don’t like ______.

Jenny likes fruit. I also like fruit. Fruit is good for our health, so I give you an advice: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

设计意图:Students learn the sentences by listening and repeating. At last, they are supposed to use the sentences to communicate with their partners.
