Positive Form :

am/is/are+being+done

Negative Form:am/is/are+not+being+done

General Question Form:Am/Is/Are+Subject+being+done(+other components)?

Special question Form:question word+am/is/are+(subject)+being+done(+other componets)?

Look! The children are being taken care of by their aunt.

The sports meeting is being held in our school.

The problem is being discussed at the meeting.

Is a new library being built in their school now?

Yes,it is. /No,it isn’t.

How many houses are being built in your village? II. Usages of the Passive Voice of Present Continuous tense 1.

It means the action is going on at the moment when they are talking. The project is being discussed at the meeting. 2.

It means the action is being done during the period not at the moment. The life of the Milu deer is being studied at present by scientists. 3.

It means the action that will happen according to the plans ,arrangements.(only limited

to few verbs) Some rock music is being played by them next. It is said that a plane is being flown by him to America at eight next Sunday morning. 4.

It means emotional commentary, which is often followed by always,often,constantly. He is always being praised by the teacher. III.

Notes 1.

The verbs expressing state,emotional activities, possession and existence cannot be used in this passive voice of the present continuous tense,but used in the passive voice of the present tense. Peter, come here, You are wanted on the phone. Football is becoming more and more popular.In other words, it is loved by more and more people. 2.

be+under/in/on and so on+Noun. This structure express the meaning of the passive voice of the Present Continuous Tense.No article before Noun. The problem is under discussion at the meeting. =The problem is being discussed at the meeting. IV. Practice in class. 1.
