Lesson 12 Helen Keller

一、教学分析

1.学生分析

六年级的学生,经过三年多的英语学习,已经具有一定的英语阅读能力,通过对本节故事课的学习将进一步培养学生的阅读策略,提高阅读能力,激发学习兴趣,提高学习效率。

2.教材分析

本课是Unit2单元的故事课,主要以培养学生的英语阅读兴趣和初步的阅读能力。

二、教学目标分析

1.知识与技能目标:

(1)学生能听懂并理解这个简单故事。

(2)学生能回答关于这个故事的问题。

(3)学生能用自己的话复述故事。

2.学习策略目标:

(1)学生在阅读和学习中逐渐培养略读、寻读、预测等阅读策略。

(2)通过小组合作,学生增强合作意识,发展学生的基本学习策略。

3.情感态度目标:

通过学习Helen Keller的事迹,让学生学有所得,希望她的精神能激励和教育我们的学生在任何时候遇到艰难永不退缩。

三、教学重难点分析

教学重点:学生能运用多种阅读策略理解故事内容,并能用正确的语音、语调有感情的朗读故事。

教学难点:学生能借助图片、提示词等帮助复述故事。

步骤1:Warm-up

1. Greeting.

步骤2:Presentation

Pre-reading

1.教师出示Helen Keller的照片,教师引导学生观察图片并说出自己观察到的内容,引出课题!

2.播放Helen Keller的故事,让学生整体感知Helen Keller的故事。

While-reading

1.Read picture1、2.

(1)Read picture 1 and picture 2, then find the answers.

a. When was Helen born?

b. Where was Helen born?

c. What happened when Helen was 19 month old?

(2)Blind drawing让学生充分体会blind,并领读练习重点词汇deaf和blind.

(3)再次阅读图2、3,理解故事,发展学生的寻读策略。

a. Why did Helen often get angry?

b. How did her parents feel?

学生通过阅读找出或推断出答案。

(4)引导学生有感情的朗读图1至图3.

2. Read picture4 and picture 5.

(1) Read picture4 and picture 5, then answer the questions:

a. What happened in 1887?

b. How did Anne teach Helen?

(2)播放视频2,让学生体会Anne Sullivan如此努力的教授Helen Keller,并有感情的朗读课文!

3.学习故事中图6图7和图8内容快速阅读并填空,发展学生略读策略。通过给出提示词让学生复述接下来发生的故事,细化处理图6至图8内容

Post-reading

1.对所学故事内容进行练习、巩固。默读课文并小组内讨论下列问题

(1)Why did Helen Keller often get angry?

(2)Was Helen’ teacher great?

(3)Do you know the book The Story of My Life?

(4)What can you learn from Helen Keller?

步骤3:Class closing

1.再次观看视频,教师引导学生探讨故事的寓意,启发学生思考。

Helen is unlucky but she is great! Compare with her, how happy and lucky we are . We should do more useful things. We are not afraid of difficulties. We never give up! Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.
