plum jam. then Ss will listen to and have a better understanding of a funnny storry. 2.Ability aim: The main objective of the course is that students will be able to adopt listening skills such as listenning for genernal idea ,detailed information and some writing stratigies . 3. Emotional aim: The emotion objective is that students will have the awareness of English humour. Teaching important points To improve the students’ listenning abilities and writing abilities by some strategies. Teachindifficult points: Ss write a funny story by themselves. Teaching methods and Studying Methods: 1. Task based language teaching 2. Question and answer activity 3. Individual works, Pair works and group works Teaching aids: multimedia and blackboard Teaching Procedure Step I: Lead-in (2mins) Enjoy a funny picture of an old couple to lead in the topic of funny storys in family. Step II: Lisening(18mins) 1.Learn some new words in order to understand the story correctly.

2. Listen to the first part of the story for first time to get the main idea.

(4mins) 3.Listen to the first part of the story for a second time to answer these questions: (4mins) What was Mary going to do with the cooked plums in the pan? What did John think Mary should have done with the mess in the pan? Then check the answers. 4.Think about these two questions and pridict what will happen ? (2mins) How do you think will Mary react to John when she found the jam thrown away? What will happen to the poor chicken? 5.

Before listen to Part 2, try to put these sentences below in order. Then listen again and check the answers. Some students talk about the funny story in front of the class. Step IV: writing(16mins) 1. Enjoy a funny story together .Ttalk about the strcture of the funny story and 3elements of funny story. (6mins) 2.

Write down your own funny story and read it to your partner , then ask for advice. (10mins) Some students show their own funny story to all the class. Step V Summary (3mins) Go over what we have done in this class. Step VI: Homework (1min) Please collect as many funny stories as you can. And try to find some interesting words in the stories. Blackboard design On the top, there is the title of this lesson. Then, list some new words on the left of the blackboard, list 3elements of funny story.
