一、教材分析 This passage introduces the differences between a fact and an opinion. Students are provided with a definition and an example for each term.

二、学习者特征分析

该班学生的主要特点是不善于将心中所想表达出来，我在这方面一直鼓励学生，培养他们的积极性，使得课堂气氛活跃。结合本单元的教学内容与生活实际设置情境，让学生参与活动，引起他们的表达欲望和学习兴趣。

三、教学目标

1、能力目标：阅读速度和技巧的训练；

2、情感目标：让学生能够区分an opinion and a fact；通过讨论等小组活动培养协作精神；通过课堂教学活动激发学生英语学习兴趣。

四、教学策略选择与设计

教学策略主要以任务型教学(Task-based Teaching)为主，通过多媒体课件以及安排多个课堂教学活动贯穿整个课时，侧重培养学生的阅读能力与说的能力。

五、教学重点及难点

教学重点：帮助学生在规定时间内完成阅读目标

教学难点：1.学生阅读能力的培养，运用文中信息解决问题的能力；

2.通过编排的对话与故事表演，运用有关的英语知识点

六、教学过程

Step 1. Leading-in

1. Greetings

2. look at the screen ,there are some main words and phrases, guess the meaning and make the sentences with them (revision)

3. a series of sentences (opinions and facts), ask them to discuss what are facts and what are opinions(leading in)

Step 2. Pre-reading

1.Let the ss to read the text on Page 5 and ask the students to answer the questions and fill in the blanks.

2.language points:

3.activity: make a debate on whether middle school students should smoke

Step3 lisetening practice

Fill in the blanks and then let them tell the sentences of opinions and facts

Step 4. Homework

Write down some facts and your opinions about whether we students should take cellphones

八．教学反思

课文比较简单，阅读能力的培养达到了目的。从速读到查读、细读，学生配合的很好，积极性很高。

学生在说的方面较差，发音太欠准确，以后多练习。

学生的潜力很大，要充分发挥与挖掘。（比如说，让学生辩论时，真正参与，表达了观点，很激烈，学生说的很好，有几处是我备课时所没想到的。）以后再讲本节课时，可以适当加入写作训练，把说的细节的东西落实到笔头上。
