Step1.Lead in

Play a video and ask students what it is and let them have maid idea of what Play guessing game: we are going to learn

Give some sentences to describe different kinds of calculating objects and some pictures to help the students to guess what it is?

① An old calculating machine used in China until now. An abacus ② It is a new calculating machine which can solve a large number of

mathematical problems. A calculator ③ It is built to solve some mathematical problems. But it is too big.

Students read the new words and spell them then put them down on their notebook. Step2.Brain storm

Show students the PPT and ask students what they know about computers. Students will say different brands at home and abroad of computer, then the teacher lead them to learn. For example: Shapes, Sizes, Colors, Kinds, Parts. 2)

Show the parts of computer and ask students : do you know them ?

Students will say the new words out one by one in Chinese, and then the teacher lead them to learn. 3)

Learn the new words about computer, read after the teacher then put them down in their notebook. 4)

Let students guess what will be the next if the computers develop, and show them photos of robots to arise their interest in science and computer..

Step3. Discussion

1)

Ask students: what are the advantages and disadvantages of the computer?

Then let students divide into groups to discuss about it. 2)

Show students a sentence structure: We can use the computer to…….Teacher lead students to read a couple of times and then show them some photos where there are verb phrases.

3)

Let some students to use the sentence structure to make a new sentence. 4)

Summarize the advantages and disadvantages of computers: Let some of the students talk about the advantages then show them what the advantages of computer. In the same way, show the disadvantages of computers then summarize.

Step4. Homework 1)Revise the new words. 2) Do Ex on period 2. 3) Search for more information about computers.
