教材分析

本单元的中心话题是“破记录”，所谈论的内容涉及多项打破吉尼斯世界纪录的故事。旨在通过单元教学，使学生能够根据一些已知事实内容，结合贴切的表达来反映人们挑战自我、持之以恒、坚定信心并最终达成目标的精神，并就此发表自己的观点和看法，能根据谈论过的话题写出条理清晰的短文。

本节课上的内容是Using language中的

reading and writing 。这个部分有两个密切相关的板块，通过这两方面的内容，学生将完成读与写——输入与输出的训练过程。读的内容是有关体育赛事中的辉煌人物及吉尼斯世界记录保持者的焦点介绍，而写的内容是阅读的延伸，那就是让学生根据已提供的信息介绍，结合阅读内容将打破吉尼斯记录的事迹写成更充实完整的一篇报道。

In his teens he was a triathlete but at 16 he began to concentrate on cycling.

Step I Lead in

Design a situation of a program .Ask some students to imitate challenging themselves on the platform to arouse the students’ interest in the class.
