本课是小学英语五年级教学内容，通过本课的学习，要求学生能够在语境中运用本单元的核心词汇。能用情态动词must来表达必须要做或禁止做的事情。了解有关火的一些常识，注意防火安全。在生活交际中能学以致用。教师给学生提供了大量与本课所学内容相关的视听情境，学生在教师的引导下，进行自主学习和合作学习，提高口语交际能力和语言综合运用能力。

通过近期发生在加利福利亚的一场大火的视频，强烈的视觉冲击让学生感受到火灾的可怕和给人们生活带来的灾难。

利用多媒体课件创设情境，观看火灾视频后，强烈感受到防火的重要性，自然提示课题：Fire Look at the pictures. Safety. It’s Mother’s Day.

教师请学生列举火灾发生的地点，思考火灾发生
