Presentation on my design of Using Language Ⅱ

Dear ladies and gentlemen, I feel great honored to be here to share my teaching design with you. My design is based on Using LanguageⅡ in Unit 1, New Senior English for China Student’s Book 9, which talks about famous sportsperson who has broken a record. I will divide my presentation into the following parts: Ⅰ. Understanding of the material and analysis of my students Ⅱ. Key literacy Ⅲ. Teaching important and difficult points Ⅳ. Choices of teaching and learning approaches Ⅴ. Invitation of teaching aids Ⅵ. Introduction to teaching procedures Ⅶ. Blackboard design Ⅷ. My idea of this design So, let’s come to them one by one. Ⅰ. Understanding of the material and analysis of my students The teaching material is taken from Unit 1 Using Language(Reading and Writing). It talks about the famous sportsperson. According to the teaching and learning of the former sections in this unit, the teacher is sure that students have a certain amount of English language, but they lack confidence and have a poor reading habit. So the teacher ought to inspire their interest and develop their reading abilities.

Ⅱ. Key literacy So, I think we will achieve these aims in this class: 1.

Learning abilities: 1) The students can skim the passage to get the 4Ws information (who; when; where and what). 2) The students can output what they have learned. 2. Cultural consciousness

The students can have a better understanding of sports culture. 3. Thinking quality: The students will be able to take an active part in English class and voice their opinions confidently. Ⅲ. Teaching important and difficult points Teaching important point: Enable the students to talk about famous sportspeople. Teaching difficult point: Help the students learn how to make poster. Ⅳ. Choices of teaching and learning approaches Then, the invitation of teaching and learning methods is very important. 1.

Review what we have learned and then come to the topic with the following question: A. Do you like sports? B. Who is your favorite sports star? In this way, students can know what they will learn is not strange , so to arise their interest and confidence. Well begun is half done, then the teacher will also be confident to teach the words and expressions. By doing this task, they have not only mastered the words, but also got certain ways to learn how to make a poster. Step 4 Summary Life is a stage where we are not only an actor but more a director. We write our lines in the script, give stage directions, and divide our own acts and scenes. We should learn to work with our cast. Always keep smiling, and life is sure to smile on us someday!

Step 5 Homwork Search some pictures of sportsperson on the Internet and try to find how to make them attractive. This part is designed to meet students’ needs of thinking and creating in English. What the teacher will do is to assist the students to distribute tasks among group members properly to make all of them fully participate, but not just some of them.

The multimedia will play an important role in the English class. Ⅷ. My idea of this design Just as what I have mentioned above, the purpose of English learning in middle school is to develop students’

good sense of the English language by listening, speaking, reading and writing. As a teacher, what I need to do is to offer them more opportunities to cooperate, compete and create actively, thus to make them the real masters . However, Rome was not built in a day, both the teacher and students need patience, we should work side by side to make English class more pleasure. Thanks for your attention!
